VOTING STARTS – GOAL PERSISTS

By a vote of 218 to 210, the House narrowly passed GOP-Boehner debt-limit legislation Friday after Republican leaders revised it to gain the support of recalcitrant tea party conservatives, but Senate Democrats declared it dead on arrival.  The game is now to get a bipartisan plan that would raise the federal debt ceiling ahead of a potentially catastrophic U.S. default on Aug. 2.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) asked: “Why is it that the Republicans insist on having the middle class pay the price so the high end is off the hook?”

Obviously a rhetorical question – the wealth need to retain assets to use when the economy collapses.  But the Republicans want the economy to collapse – it must collapse!  They have been working to achieve that for over thirty years.

How close to the brink are they willing to go?  They need to set the stage for 2012.  But it is beginning to look like the real goal is to set the stage for 2016 – at which time, the horrors they create today cane be blamed on the Democrats.  Remember.  The long term goal is:

“THE MOST HARM TO THE MOST PEOPLE”
