Roman Countdown–Well Malachy be Correct?

Here’s the overview, Malachy has named 112 Popes who will reign until the end of both the Catholic Church and Rome –  by implication … given that the other Christian Churches did not exist in 1139 … this marks the end of Christianity for all but the Creationist types.

With the exception of the one to be elected after 28 February 2013, St Malachy has named the 111 legitimate Popes – he seems to have omitted those classified as anti-popes.

Now there’s a scary heading.  But, as those of you who recall my 2005 column – the one in which I announced the name Joseph Ratzinger would assume as Pope, when the Papal Election would be held (six days after publication).  As I stated at the time, the column was based on the visions of (Saint) Malachy, who, in 1139, was Archbishop of Ireland, and wrote a list in which he defined the characteristics which would define the next 112 popes.  Benedict XVI was the 111th on the list.  With the announcement of Benedicts forthcoming resignation, the prediction associated with the 112th Pope now come into play.

One translation of the prophecy reads:  "In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church there will reign Peter the Roman, who will feed his flock amid many tribulations, after which the seven-hilled city will be destroyed and the dreadful Judge will judge the people.  The End."

In some translations, Benedict is identified as “The Last But One” before the final pope, Peter of  Rome (or Peter the Roman).  Given the unusual nature of a Papal resignation, Malachy might well have been indicating the election of an interim pope who will reign during the life of Benedict, and for a short time thereafter.  If that is the case, then the predicted events could be delayed.  But by how much? 

In “Genesis of Genesis” (2012), I provided the long sought after explanation for the extraordinary ages of the Biblical Patriarchs.  Six months later, in “Saint Paul’s Joke” (2012), I expanded on the timeline, and utilized the Canonized Letters of St. Paul, to project a date for the fulfillment of the Davidic Prophecy upon which Christianity was founded.  As it happens, Isaac Newton, using a slightly different knowledge base and methodology, made the same timeline projection.  Newton obtained the years 2034 and 2060; those who have read “Saint Paul’s Joke” are aware that, utilizing the method established in “Genesis of Genesis”, I derived the dates 2030 and 2064.  The difference might be the result of the‘Shem Error’ – a common dating error associated with the way the Deluge  mythology is presented.

At its most basic level, the issue is one of prophecy.  Do you believe, or not?  If not, than the basis for any acceptance of Christianity vanishes; for the Jew, it is irrelevant – though the Davidic prophecy did say that the world would follow the Hebrew Law.  At one level, it can be said that the Law is built around what we consider modern hygiene.  The Law also incorporates the Hebrew calendar, which my readers know was reset to one, at a Metonic Node, to create the calendar we now use – fact which explains why the event our calendar supposedly used as its starting point occurs after the historic events which allegedly accompanied, or followed from it.

In terms of the prophecy, and for those who are in to mystic signs, it is interesting that the Papal Resignation was followed by a lightning bolt striking St. Peter's Basilica.  No such event marked the 1415 abdication of Gregory XII, who died before his successor was elected.  Malachy identified him as ‘Nauta de ponte nigro’(Sailor of the black bridge) – an accurate enough label for a Venetian associated with the Church of Negropont (Black-bridge).  But what of the current successor?

If we hold to the strictest meaning of ‘Romanus’, he will be from Rome or associated with a Church position based in Rome.  If we go by Peter, we  have three possibilities: 1. The elected successor will be an interim Pope whose validity can be challenged; 2. He will be someone who will adopt Peter as his Papal name; 3. He will be someone with the name Peter, or a connection to the term ‘petros’ (rock).  Peter was also an orthodox Jew, so we can also add a Jewish connection to the defining mix.

The third possibility yields the current frontrunners: The Archbishop of Budapest,  Peter Erdo (61); Cardinal Peter Turkson (64), a black candidate from Ghana; the Archbishop of Sao Paolo, Brazil,

Odilo Pedro Scherer (63), whose given names are Hispanic and whose surname is Ashkenazi Jewish.

In terms of Joseph Ratzinger, the date of March 25th has a symbolic significance, and might represent the date when his successor will actually be decided.  In terms of my own predictions, whoever is elected, if he is not a Peter – or, if there is no clear ‘Petrus Romanus’ connection – then he will probably die before, or with, Ratzinger.  In any even, the prophecy calls for a Judgment and an End.  If it is a “Final Judgment”, one which decides who lives and who dies in the “tribulation” period,  then “Saint Paul’s Joke” tells you the rules which were set down by Saul of Tarsus (St. Paul) – and, if you are Christian, they are, most certainly, NOT the rules expounded by your priest, or minister.

If Malachy continues to be as accurate has he has proven to be for nearly nine hundred years, most of us will live to see the destruction of Rome and the end of Christianity as a religion – we might even live to see the death of a majority of its with 1.2 billion followers.  Don’t you love living at a time when one can pronounce “The End is Near”; when one can make apocalyptic assertions and, almost certainly, be ignored?  After all, it is an age when nobody takes such things seriously ... or do they?

My next prediction: Malachy will be proved more correct than those who said the Mayan Calendar predicted the Apocalypse – when all its end date indicated was that there would be no extant Mayan Civilization in need of a calendar.

1. Chinese Zodiac, the Year of 2013 is the Year of the Snake, which began on February 10, 2013 (The first day of 2013 Chinese Astrology Year is on February 4, 2013) and ends on January 30, 2014.  Those who recall my “Path of the Serpent” book (from 30 years ago – like anyone remembers before most net occupants were born LOL) know that the Serpent is the only universal deity.  You had a taste of the connection in “Grandpa Was A Deity” (2011) in which I included the artwork copied from a Cro-Magnon Cave in France… The Snake, is the sixth sign of the Chinese Zodiac, which consists of 12 Animal Signs.  As with most deities, It’s enigmatic, intuitive, introspective, refined and collected.  Ancient Chinese wisdom says a Snake is a good omen and ensures your family will not starve.  Not a bad thing for a Deity to represent.  In any event, the next few decades will tell us if Malachy is correct… if he is, 1. I would hate to live in Rome, and 2. if you ever want to see the eternal city, you had better go soon.
