Are Republicans STUPID or HYPOCRITS?

Really, even considering the possibility of Ted Cruz running for President … are Republicans STUPID or HYPOCRITS?

Cruz was born in Canada to parents who were Canadian Residents – mom United States citizen, dad Cuban.  So, obviously, it wasn’t like he was born at one of our Embassies, or on a Military Base where his folks were stationed – those locations are sovereign territories of the United States and therefore would constitute his being as much a “Natural Born” citizen as if he had been born in any territory or State … though being born in a territory might raise questions: Could a Porto Rican run for President?  Or someone born in Guam?

The island of Guam was controlled by Spain until 1898, when it was surrendered to the United States during the Spanish–American War and later formally ceded as part of the Treaty of Paris.  Accordingly, it has been American for 115 years … but Guam has no votes in the Electoral College, nor does it have any voting representation in Congress – which means those born there are, Constitutionally, NOT Natural Born Citizens.  Embassy and Military personnel have full voting rights, regardless of where they are stationed – even though the specific posting has no defined Congressional representative.

Those born to Embassy and Military personnel stationed abroad would be entitled to all their rights … specifically because the President ordered their parents to be in a foreign territory, and the President cannot order a disqualification from natural rights.  BUT the parent of Ted Cruz made the choice to have him born in Canada and live there for the first four years of his life; they could also have made the choice to enforce his status as a Canadian Citizen … or even made him a Cuban.  So it is clear that he is NOT a Natural Born Citizen.

Now, the Republicans questioned Obama for being born in Hawaii – two years AFTER it became a State.  When she was expecting, Obama’s mother never abandoned her country to live in a foreign land – though they did take him to live in Indonesia … but America parents have always taken their children to live in, or in some way experience, foreign lands.  That did not alter Obama’s Natural Born status … Ted Cruz has NO Natural Born status … his is a granted status, one which could be erased by an Act of Congress … without any need for a Constitutional Amendment.

So the idea that he could even be considered for nomination appears to be sufficient evidence the Republicans are Stupid, have no regard for the American Constitution, wish to precipitate a Constitutional Crisis for the purpose of sneaking the vice-Presidential nominee into the White House, and believe the average American is so stupid as to allow it (The latter appearing to be the case with regard to other nonsense the GOP has successfully gotten away with).

In any case, the very act of considering Ted Cruz, born in Canada to an American mother  – after attacking Barack Obama for being born in Hawaii to an American mother – shows the are HYPOCRITS!

THE MOST HARM TO THE MOST PEOPLE

REPUBLICANS PLAY MANY GAMES TO ACHIEVE THAT GOAL.

THE FORWARD muffles valid opinion

'Why Jews Are Evil Jews' Assignment Earns Punishment for 10th Grade Teacher Told Albany Students To Pretend They Were Nazis in 1930s

By Reuters Published April 12, 2013.

Interesting context this:  The Jewish Newspaper, THE FORWARD, deleted the following comment:

“As a lesson, the next phase would be the significant one.
This teaches history ... and the statement, “Please remember your life (here in Nazi Germany in the 30s) depends on it!” provides context.
Having lost the European branch of the family (hundreds of cousins aunts and uncles) in the Holocaust, the topic could be disturbing.  But as a former teacher, one who liked to encourage critical thinking, I can see what the objective was.  Moreover, I really can't think of a better way to teach the context of World War Two than to have students justify an act because it meant their own lives were on the line... not because they believed what they were arguing.”

What is the Forward afraid of?  Are they fearful of people actually thinking about the fear that befell millions under the Nazis?  Are they afraid of people actually thinking about it and about having their lives depend on their ability to argue a position they believed wrong?  Does the Forward not believe there could possibly have been Jews in that tenth grade class?

Of is it that modern Jews have suddenly resigned their intellectual position in the world … have shed their brains in favor of being “politically Correct” to a standard that justifies illegal foreign “wars” … like Afghanistan?  Why illegal?  Because Congress has the Constitutional mandate to DECLARE – formally – al real Wars … and, as with Vietnam, the American Congress declined to take the legal route … instead, it just decided to, once again, commit illegal murders of foreign national…  But what do you expect of a Congress who declines to even provide medical treatment for it’s own people?

Creation Story, Creation ending

____________________________________________________
Seven or eight, maybe it was ten, thousand years ago. A few boys decide to play in their father’s garden.

It was interesting times. The gardener wasn’t too bright, his wife had possibilities – at least she was rational. And the place was neat.

Dad said no. You’re too young and they aren’t ready.

Time passed and the gardener and his wife had kids, who had kids, who had kids. Time for them, and for us, was different – as it usually is for between a master and his pets. But the pets were interesting – and better, they were genetically engineered for the father’s genes. Well, truth be told, they took the mom’s genes and altered them a bit.

We don’t talk much about that – and they do, on occasion, reassert themselves. Nonetheless, time passed and the progeny became attractive to the boys – now men in search of that which young men always seek.

As it is now, it was an interesting time to be alive. But it was less complicated, less evolved, less ... less ... ah sigh, it was a pleasant time. We were allowed to play, to change things, to do the impossible because the possible had yet to be fixed in memory.

Times have change. The house is a mess and we are nearing the period of periodic cleansing. It is the age, the time, we all knew was to come. It will be said to see its work done. To clean, to toss away that which was but is no longer of value. To pollute and cleanse at the same time. To allow the images to reconfigure themselves in the image that is to be ... strange. Confusing.

Shall I cry for my children? The ones I do not know? Or the ones I know? Shall I cry for what could and will have been – that which is and shall be? Is love or importance, or only ... only what?

We have played our games. There is a bit of light remaining. Maybe time for another round or two; but the night shall fall, the games shall end, the dreams – well, that is, one might posit, another story.

Tomorrow we shall return with the pieces we love. Those we took home and showed our parents. The others? They remained in the fields and by the streams. They were tossed aside, lost, ignored, and forgotten – never to be found again. Antiquities for a different game, a game of speculation and wonder, mystery and conjecture.

Today, tonight, the castle of sand shall collapse of their own weight – and with the ebbing of the tide. Images, painted in air, on sand, in water. It is so sad ... tomorrow is almost here.

Sleep my prince, sleep my queen, my father. Let me turn off the lights so you can sleep without their glare, let me sleep tonight that tomorrow will be better.

Let me sleep. Let me rest. Oh father why do you seek rest so dearly? How hard was thy task? How burdensome the time you allowed us to play? Our existence is yours, and yours is ours, and they believe they have a place – when they have nothing but responsibility for our grounds, our garden, our place of pleasure.

Let us rest my dear parents, let us rest. This game is tiresome and should come to an end.
